A pendant which is in response to a challenge by Bob Ebendorf!

I’ve wanted to make something with that edging – the idea stolen from a 14th Century piece in the V&A – for ages.

It was difficult… every fine wire supporting a garnet or pearl bead had to be soldered into the thick steel escutcheon.

Steel escutcheon and washer, found ceramic doll body, silver, garnets, pearls, natural pale pink sapphire and briolette blue sapphire.

I’m going to get my ear pierced …(and i’ve had it done before but i had to let the hole close because of an allergic reaction i had to the metal earring i was wearing) … and i have no clue what type of earring i should get (well at least material wise) Any suggestions??

Question by Lesharo: How do you sterilize sterling silver jewelry safely?

I recently bought a used antique silver whistle. It’s about 100 years old and was used by the previous owner(s). I want to put this whistle in my mouth and use it at times. I know that silver by nature is anti-microbal, but I don’t want to rely on that when I’m considering that this is something going in my mouth.

Also, I do not want to pay to use some expensive autoclave machine that is intended for body jewelry or anything like that. And, I want to keep the sheen of my silver and don’t want it to be damaged from the cleaning and sterilization process.

Its probably because you shouldn’t change out the bar anyway until its mostly healed. I’m not sure though. If yours isn’t healed yet just change out the balls but leave the bar in.
