Question by I accept Chaos: Question about women and jewelry?

I gave my special friend an early V-day present since I will be out of town this weekend. It was a silver bracelet set with pretty stones. At first when I handed her the card and box she was like “You shouldn’t have gotten me anything” but she wanted to put it on right away and said that she liked it after she opened it. Then she sent me a text message about 3 hours later saying “Thank you, its so pretty, I love it”.

We are currently just “friends with benefits” , but I made sure that the card said thanks for being a friend. It didnt say anything about love or anything.

Ok all that rambling to get to the question.

Do you think that she liked and/or appreciated the gift by her actions?

She is always a bit standoffish because she says that she doesnt want a real relationship right now because of her 3 year old son and I am just hoping that I didn’t freak her out.

I met my friend last november and gave her a pair of earrings that I made.

I left the country then unexpectedly came back.

I asked her if she ever wears the earrings and she said ” when I go out I do.”

Well I’ve been out with her a few times and have never seen them. (usually people wear the pieces I give them when we’re together, which has always been nice)

Last week, I was at her house and her jewelry box was in her living room so yes, I looked through it! I didn’t see the earrings anywhere.

I can’t really ask about them again but I’m a bit pissed off. These were sterling silver and blue topaz and I sell them for 36$ a pair!

Is it likely she got rid of them?

I’m having trouble deciding on bridesmaids gifts (there are five gifts to buy!)
I’ve been over perfume bottles, compact mirrors, trinket boxes, (jewellery isn’t an option as some wear silver, some wear gold and it will get too expensive).
I have found some digital photo frames on sale, I think this would be a cool gift that they can actually use, you know?

I would love to get that as a gift!

But what about purchasing the jewelery you want the girls to wear at the wedding? Or, in a wedding I was in, the bride paid for our hair and nails, which was great!

But if you’ve already considered those options and they’re not right for you, I think the frame is a great idea!

EDIT: That’s awesome that you’re taking care of their hair and nails AND getting them a gift! In that case, I think the frame is perfect!

The silver is then given a patina and then highlighted to accent every little vein and hammer dimple. or just what, that makes you choose one item over another?

I will be selling handmade jewelry at a craft fair again this November, and am wondering what will help my sales in this economy. My stuff is good and well-made and is a good value for the money. (Most of my handcrafted sterling silver earrings go for under .-, for example.) What else do I need to make my sales tops?

I would have to say that for most people that are shopping at craft fairs the most important thing they are looking for is value. Fairs, outdoor markets and the such have this type of stigma of things being cheaper and better priced then a regular store

My husbond and myself are going to a chrismas party tomorrow, so I desided to have a look in my jewellery box, to find something to wear. I was so happy to find this very spesial lucky charm, and it made me remembering Judy.
Judy worked as an scientist on the university, and I worked there as a cleaning lady!
We did have many great conversations, and I was sad when she had to leave. She gave me this beautiful necklace, and told me it would bring me happiness!
I have tryed too find Judy on the webb so many times over the years that has gone bye, but no luck so far as I cant recall her last name.

It’s Shalene’s birthday tomorrow so, leaving it to the last minute, Celyn and I went shopping, along with Celyn’s friend, Jaih. She likes to be surprised so we didn’t buy her anything she asked for! I have a Christening coming up for a family member. Low key, not very religious (BBQ as party to follow… if you catch my drift).. Anyway, I figured normally you give money or jewelry(I think?).. so to be different I bought a silver plated jewelry box that i would get engraved with the babies name on top. I never would have thought of this as a gift for an infant but it definitely is something she (not for a boy) could use in the future. Having it engraved is a very nice thing to do. It is small and can be put away if necessary until she starts collecting jewelry.

It looks nice enough. If it looks cheap, either take it back or put something inside like some money or a rattle or something. Don’t think it isn’t nice enough if you are only saying that because it wasn’t expensive.

Nobody else will have anything like this as a gift, so I think it’ll get positive attention.

Anyone who says anything negative is a crass, rude person and you couldn’t care less what they say. So there!
